Sugar and Love - Human!Nutty x Reader

    .:Reader's POV:.

I swung upside down from the tree branch I usually did, opening up my book and reading along the lines swiftly. I wouldn't say I'm the best reader, but I'm definitely more enthusiastic with my skills than some of my friends. Sure, I get categorized as a 'book worm' or 'reading freak' but I take those as compliments. 

"What are you reading, (f/n)?" 

I smiled and shut the book on the bookmark and hauled myself up to see Flaky sitting next to me. She wore her usual pink sweatshirt that always slid off her shoulders and her shorts. Kicking my legs in circles, I looked at the cover of my book. "(f/b). How'd you get up here without making any sound?" You asked her.

Flaky stayed silent, staring at the ground far beneath her and her pupils dilating in anxiety. "So, high, up..." She gulped and tightened her grip on the branch.

You raised an eyebrow and smiled, putting an arm over her shoulder to secure Flaky. "I see you have acrophobia." You giggled playfully.

Her attention return as her eyes met with yours. "Acro- what?" She repeated what you said, tilting her head confused. 

You laughed and slowly retreated your arm from around her. "Acrophobia. It's the fear of heights." You explained and she nodded. Smiling, Flaky said her goodbye and gradually climbed down until her feet were back on the ground. You watched as she waved a last time and took off. 

Sighing, you swung back upside down and dropped your book. Your eyes opened to the sound of the book thudding on the ground and screamed to see a pair of proportioned green chaotic eyes staring in yours. "BWOAH!" You screeched.

    .:Narrator's POV:.

Your legs loosened and you fell from the tree branch in a matter of seconds. Hitting the ground, you groaned and looked up to see a boy, around your age with green hair and... Candy? in various places of his messy hair. His long curved smile faded and he jumped down beside you and propped you up. "Hey, who are you?" 

He laughed and sat beside you, pulling out a lollipop from his pocket and unwrapping it. He popped the sugary pop into his mouth and blushed. "Mesh names Nuttshy," He tried to introduce himself with a mouthful of the candy.

You couldn't help but laugh a bit and you sat up in front of him. You pulled the lollipop out of his mouth. "Repeat please." You smiled and handed him the sweet back.

You sniffed the aroma of sweet lingering cotton candy and honey. Wow, this guy loves his sweets. "My names Nutty." He corrected himself and slid the lollipop back into his mouth, waiting for you to tel him your name.

Generally, you'd be more cautious with your personal information around new friends, but Nutty seemed trusting. "(F/n). It's nice to meet you, Nutty." You smiled and picked up your book. "So, I don't see you around here much." You said and tilted your head in signal for an answer of why.

"Well..." You stared at him as he looked down and flicked the candy behind him, finished with it. "Uh, would you like some candy??" He smiled fakely.

Even though you hated it when people changed subjects, you could tell he didn't want to talk about it so you played along and shrugged with a smile. "Sure!" You laughed as he fished out (f/c). "My favorite!" You said as you took it from him. "Thank you, Nutty." You nodded and delightfully rested the sweet on your tongue, swirling it in your mouth. 

He nodded as a brief 'your welcome' and jumped to his feet. You grabbed his arm as a prop to help you up with your book in your other hand. "Hey (f/n)..."

You looked at Nutty and smiled, patting off the dirt from your knees. "Yes?"

"Will you be my friend?"
